Article: The Process of Building a Web Site

There are several things that need to be considered when you are planning your Web site. You'll need a domain name and hosting service, images, text, color choices, a logo, and most importantly, a clearly defined purpose.

Although the list above may seem daunting, remember that the creation of a Web site is a process. You can do it in baby-steps. If you have an idea of what you want at the beginning of the process, however, you will be able to save yourself money, time, and effort later.

When you are ready to consider the creation of your site, we'll gather information about the message you want to convey and the purpose you want your Web site to serve. We'll also discuss how you want to market your site.

Once we have determined your needs and wishes, we will start by obtaining your domain name and hosting service, if you don't have them already. Next, we'll offer you several rough drafts of the layout of the site. Once you select a design, the building of the site begins.

We'll test your site in MS Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Mozilla Web-browsers to make sure the pages look the way they were designed. If there are e-mail forms, we'll test those, too. Every aspect of your site will be inspected to make sure that it is very user-friendly. Before your site is launched, you'll have an opportunity for final editing and revision.

So, now you have an idea of what goes into the creation of your Web site. Mt. Baker Web Design will be there to assist you every step of the way! We can help make this process seem effortless!
