The North Fork is a beer shrine, brewery, restaurant, and wedding chapel! They feature hand-tossed freshly made pizzas as well as a full dinner menu. To quench your thirst, they offer microbrews and home brewed root beer, too! Truly the best pizza around. It’s a kid-friendly place, too. How nice is that? They’ve been selected as an “Editor’s Choice” in Best Places Northwest.

What can I say about Milano’s? The food is spectacular and the desserts are to die for. Really, it’s worth the trip up the road to have a feast here. They make their own pasta for fabulous classics like Pasta Puttanseca, Foriana, and Carbonara. For dessert, try the Cappuchino Chocolate Torte. Really.

Grahams Restaurant in Glacier, WA

Grahams Restaurant, located at 9989 Mount Baker Highway. Glacier, WA 98244 features home-cooked international fare. Try their famous fish tacos or Uli’s sausage sandwich! The kitchen is open from 11 AM -9 PM. Call to check -360-599-1964. They have live local music, so you should check out their schedule – you might get lucky and hear Bent Grass or some other wonderful band.

The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest

The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, another of our neighbors, is a wonderland of over one million acres. The boundaries extend from the Canadian Border to the north end of Mt. Rainier National Forest. The link will take you to the forestry site focusing on State Route 542, also known as The Mt. Baker Highway.

The Mt. Baker Ski Area

May as well start at the top of the mountain – or close to it! The Mt. Baker Ski Area, our world famous neighbor, is a magnet for skiers and snowboarders. The ski area hosts the Legendary Banked Slalom annually, and draws some of the leading names in snowboarding for the competition. Oh, and keeping with the vibe of the ski area, the winner receives a duct tape trophy.

In the summer, there’s fabulous hiking to be experienced and, if you time it right, a trip to Artist Point. Artist Point offers a spectacular 360 degree view of the mountains! Since the WA State Department of Transportation is responsible for plowing the road, you have to check their site to make sure you can actually get there. Typically, you can get to Artist Point from July until the first major snowfall of the year. (yeah, it does snow that much up here!)
